What our travelers say

We have been on two TWK Adventure Tours. The first was in South Africa 2014 and then again in Fiji 2017. To say that these trips were fantastic is an understatement. Instead, I would say that both trips were life-altering. Seeing the world as a family is more special then words can describe. Showing your 12-year-old daughter what life is like in a South African township or being in the bush tracking rhinos can’t be forgotten.
Sharing in a kava ceremony in a small fijian village and waking up every day on a new beautiful secluded island seems like something out of a dream.
We have made lifelong friends on these journeys. We can’t wait to share more adventures together.
If you are looking for a safe family-focused way to see the world this is the way to do it. We like to say that you can spoil your kids but you can’t spoil them with travel.
OMG!!
We signed up for this trip only about 4 weeks out (thank heaven that there was space available). My family of five (our three kids are 21, 20 and 18) made our way to South Africa and from time of arrival, we experienced a vacation that was absolutely fun-filled from beginning to end. TWK has lined up great hotels and the resorts on the Madikwe Game Preserve, its guides and employees are just as nice and friendly as anywhere you will ever stay. A BIG thanks to Jeremy and Carrie!! Truly, the trip of a lifetime!!!!
The Zachars in Phoenix, Arizona
This was by far our best family vacation to date. It will most likely will be the best for a long time to come. TWK went over and above to make this trip not only memorable but entertaining and comfortable too.
Having never traveled to a foreign country with our teenage children, we were a little overwhelmed at trying to plan a trip. Carrie and Jeremy, the owners of Travel With Kids Family Adventure Tours, took care of almost everything for us. The only thing we had to do for this trip was book our plane reservations, which we were given several suggested flights and airlines to help us with that too. We were given itineraries, packing list and newsletters letting us know about weather, immunizations and other things we would need to get done prior to travel. They made the preparations for our trip more than easy.
The trip itself was absolutely amazing! We started in Johannesburg and a small suburb called SoWeTo to do charity work (Every family brought over backpacks with school supplies for the underprivileged children. We ended up donating about 100 backpacks) and learn about the culture and history of this area. We learned about the student uprising that started the end of Apartheid and were able to walk the same road that the students walked in their peaceful protest. It was very powerful. We are traditional African foods, saw Mandela’s house and many other historical places in the city.
Next, we traveled outside of Johannesburg to the Madikwe Game Reserve to the Impodimo Game Lodge. The accommodations were beautiful! As we walked into our room, we were greeted by a herd of elephants walking by headed to the watering hole on site. We couldn’t believe it! There were no barriers on the property so the animals could all roam right onto the property and did! One morning, we were awoken by two male lions talking to each other, VERY LOUDLY, and we were told to stay in our rooms and tell our rangers came to get us to walk us to the lodge. It was very exciting! We did 8 safaris, four in the morning and four in the evening for a total of about 30 hours of game viewing! I could’ve spent twice as much time watching the beautiful animals in their natural environments but we were able to see every animal possible except for a leopard. Multiple male and female lions (babies too!), cheetah, elephants, giraffe, rhino, hyena, and many, many more. The rangers we so respectful of the animals and their environment. We were in the animal’s world, not the other way around and they showed tremendous respect for it.
The food was very good and adventurous. We had traditional foods and also different types of game animals such as warthog, impala, and kudu. Everything looked delicious and tasted the same! I wasn’t sure what to expect when we went but we were all pleasantly surprised. The one food we ALL decided we never needed to eat again was tripe! Yuck!
The staff and rangers at the lodge were so friendly and knowledgeable. I will for sure return in the future to Impodemo Game Lodge.
For the last leg of the trip, we traveled by plane to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. The falls were breathtaking! The town itself was small, quaint and fun to explore. We went on a fantastic sunset cruise on the Zambezi River where we saw tons of hippopotamus and a spectacular sunset.
Overall, we had a wonderful time on our tour and with all of the families. Carrie and Jeremy did a great job coordinating the trip and providing a fantastic trip for the families. There were a lot of things to do but we also had opportunities to have some downtime to get to know each other and we made a lot of great friends. It was truly an experience of a lifetime and we look forward to our next adventure with the Travel With Kids Family Adventure Tours!
Amazing family tour group! I first discovered this tour group from their TV show and I was inspired by the way they traveled as a family –finding creative ways for their young boys to experience all sorts of locations. We have been on two Travel WIth Kids tours- Ireland 2016 and Fiji 2017 and they were both fantastic. We loved the castles, the history, the natural beauty, plus learning to dance, playing the drum, and spending some time cleaning up/planting seeds at a convent together in Ireland (and so much more). In Fiji, we loved meeting local families and children and enjoying the beautiful natural setting of the islands together. The Travel with Kids team is friendly, helpful, and tries their best to make sure that everyone is having the best experience possible from the youngest to the oldest.
Fantastic family vacations! South Africa was a trip of a lifetime! We took our kids ages 14, 11 and 9. In addition I took my parents ages 68 and 71. This is a vacation unlike any other. We have gone to Peru, Machu Picchu, the Amazon and Thailand. Such a perfect mixture of culture, education, adventure, friends and family.
This is a travel experience like none other! The Travel With Kids team has taken my family to four continents so far, and we can’t wait to travel the rest of the world with them as well! Carrie and Jeremy — along with their boys who have grown into amazing adventurers themselves — are such gracious, knowledgeable and fun hosts. We have been so lucky to go on four TWK tours. Peru 2015 took us into the Amazonian rainforests and up to our “bucket list” stop of Machu Picchu. Thailand 2016 brought us to the busy streets of Bangkok, the beautiful temples of Chiang Mai and the tranquil beaches of Ko Samui. In 2017, we joined some intrepid TWK families for an around-the-world adventure combining the cultural and safari tours of South Africa with the cruising and tribal village adventures of Fiji — and we even made the most of a 48-hour layover in Sydney! Sounds impossible? It would have been if we’d even tried to plan these grand adventures on our own. Travel With Kids makes it so easy. With well-researched family lodging, activities and logistics that are all taken care of well in advance, all you have to do is enjoy! The families we traveled with on group tours have become life-long friends and our children never complain that they are bored. It’s the best way to have your children experience a world far beyond their lessons in school, the standard summer vacation, or even their wildest imaginations.
My family’s prior travel adventures consisted of American big cities and English speaking European countries. We had always wanted to travel to more unique and adventurous destinations. However, as a single mother, it was difficult to plan and organize family travel to far away lands. A perfect option was found in Travel with Kids destinations. We have traveled to South Africa and Peru with the Simmons family, and each trip has had the perfect blend of fun, local culture, and adventure. Families were able to share experiences together with help from knowledgable and friendly local guides, while also having opportunities for ‘family time’ to explore local destinations on our own. The Simmons are expert travelers, and seek unique and fun experiences with an understanding of the local culture and history. All this is accomplished along with a philanthropic mission: Collection and delivery of donated school supplies (via the “Repack Project”) to local school children in each country. A genius blend of travel, adventure and charity! Thank you to Travel with Kids for two great adventures with (we expect) many more to come.
Peru was the perfect combination of adventure, culture and family time. We always had a choice of whether or not to participate in any of the outings, but we wouldn’t have skipped any of them. Getting to know other families and interacting with them as we ventured around the country only enhanced the experience. With other kids around that my son was familiar with, he was able to venture out a little more and have his own truly kid created experiences. He made good friends and great memories that he will never forget.

This was our first booking with Travel With Kids and the trip completely exceeded our expectations. Lodging, locations, food, transportation – all fantastic. We would definitely book another trip with them again.
Jeremy and Carrie, seasoned guides, provided us with their many years’ experience and allowed us to have wonder and discovery! The boat ride on the Zambezi River was exciting and sensuous and a wonderful introduction to South Africa bush! Victoria Falls was vast and breathtaking… a glorious setting for moms and dads to fall in love again. The kids were effervescent and overflowing with awe at the Falls! The safari was the main attraction, the photographic game drive in the open-air small vehicles and guides took us very up close to Rhinos, groups of lions grooming themselves, pairs of cheetahs, and groups of elephant families at the watering hole!! The herds of zebras were the best, and we loved being pampered by the entire staff at the Rhulani Safari Lodge, located in an immense Madikwe Game Reserve. All the choices Jeremy and Carrie Simmons of Travel With Kids (TWK), provided us with insight, discovery, relaxation, and joy! We will be spreading the word to our friends and colleagues. Absolutely wonderful! For our family of 14 that were with us, everyone said that it was a trip of a lifetime. Jermy and Carrie Simmons were spectacular in insuring that our trip went smoothly. Thank you!!!!
A once in a lifetime experience!! Seeing wildlife up close is spine tingling, the people were so friendly everywhere we went and it was amazing to see different aspects of South Africa. Walking thru its history was really impactful. A trip our family won’t forget!!
My 12 year old son and I had a wonderful experience in Thailnad. The guides were so wonderful! Knowledgeable, patient and never left our sides. We felt safe the entire time and absolutely loved our elephants experience. The temples were beautiful and my son loved floating in the river and playing in the waterfalls. The other families on the tour were great too. It made it nice to have others for my son to spend time with as we traveled to other locations by bus etc.
Scotland is magical! It’s the kind of place where all the images you’ve seen don’t do it justice. You need to stand there and feel the landscape (as hokey as that may sound). And while Scotland isn’t a large country, the notable landmarks are spread out. That’s what made this tour so amazing: the transportation and guides who explained all the beauty in between. We really got a true taste of Scotland and traversed the country with ease and comfort. We could have never have done all we did on this trip on our own with a rental car (and driving on the “wrong” side of the road, woah!). I would highly recommend this trip and tour to anyone looking to explore the amazingness of Scotland.

This was a wonderful experience from start to finish! Our tour guides were fun and informative, hotels were comfortable and in perfect locations, the food was amazing. Getting from one place to another was easy and put our minds at ease. We had a lot of our time coordinated, but some free time to explore on our own. I would highly recommend that others take their families! Our kids were 5, 10, and 14 at the time we went and there was something for each of them. Each area we visited felt unique and we never felt rushed.
